The National Park Service requires everyone at this park, regardless of vaccination status, to continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces, such as narrow/busy trails, overlooks, visitor center patios, & other congested areas.

Face Masks or Coverings Required in Certain Areas

North Rim Campground is currently requiring masks or face coverings in certain or all areas. Depending on your vaccination status, if you are not fully vaccinated (meaning two weeks after your final vaccination), and according to CDC guidelines, which currently depends on the COVID-19 transmissibility rate in the community in and around the park. Most parks requiring masks indoors have put an alert out (found below in the Alerts section). Please refer to the U.S. National Park Service and the local community for more detailed information.

Social Distancing Required

North Rim Campground is currently requiring everyone to social distance, 6 feet or more, from others. This usually means outside of your immediate group. Some parks may also have size restrictions on gatherings to help assist in social distancing. Please refer to the U.S. National Park Service and the local community for more detailed information.

Visitors Centers, Stores and/or Other Facilities Closed

North Rim Campground currently has visitors centers, stores, or other facilities closed due to Covid-19. It is highly suggested that you bring all the supplies you may need in case a store is closed or shopping is limited due to local communities or the park. Please refer to the U.S. National Park Service and the local community for more detailed information.

North Rim Campground Overview

The North Rim campground is remote and has just 13 sites. It is first-come, first-served all season. The last 7 miles of the North Rim Road and the campground road are unpaved. Services are limited. The campground is small, but the sites are spacious and spread out among pinyon and juniper trees. This campground fills quickly during the summer, especially on weekends. Maximum combined length of RV, car and/or trailer is 22 feet.
Directions to Campground

The North Rim is 11 miles southwest of Crawford. From CO Highway 92, turn west on Black Canyon Road approximately 3 miles south of Crawford. Follow the road signs to the park. The last 7 miles are unpaved. Once you reach the rim, turn right toward the ranger station and campground. The campground is past the ranger station. The North Rim is closed to vehicles in the winter.

Reservations are not accepted for the North Rim Campground. All sites are First Come, First Serve.

Standard Camping Fee

The nightly camping fee at the North Rim is $16.00.
Group size limit is eight people and two vehicles. When water is turned off in the campground (spring and fall), camping fees are not charged.
Cost: $16.00

Senior / Access Camping Fee

Discounted camping rate for valid Senior or Access passes. The nightly camping fee with valid passes is $8.00.
