Mammoth Cave National Park presents annual Cave Sing celebration on December 1

Mammoth Cave National Park will host the 45th annual Cave Sing celebration on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. CST. The free holiday event will feature musical performances in the cave by the Lindsey Wilson College Singers, The Heart of Kentucky Chorus, and trumpetist, Hillary Sward.
Mammoth Cave National Park seeks public comments on draft Land and Rivers Trails Management Plan Environmental Assessment

The National Park Service invites the public to comment on a draft Land and River Trails Management Plan (LRTMP) Environmental Assessment for Mammoth Cave National Park. Comments can be made through the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website from Wednesday, Oct. 16 through Friday, Nov. 15, 2024. A completed LRTMP will provide the park with a long-term strategic direction for trail maintenance, investment, and construction for the next several decades.
2025 Proposed Recreational Fee Changes for Youth at Mammoth Cave National Park

Mammoth Cave National Park is accepting public comments on a proposal to change recreational fees charged for children under the age of six. Comments may be submitted from now through October 27 through the National Park Service’s Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) system.
Mammoth Cave National Park Lifts Open Fire Restriction

Due to recent rains and favorable weather forecasts, Mammoth Cave National Park officials have lifted the burn restriction that was placed on all open fires within the park. The restriction applied to the use of campfires in the park’s three front country campgrounds, all back-country campsites, and picnic areas. Visitors are now permitted to use the fire pits and grills within these areas.
Picture This! Astrophotography Workshop at Mammoth Cave National Park

Aspiring and seasoned astrophotographers are invited to an Astrophotography Workshop at Mammoth Cave National Park on Thursday, Sep. 26. The night’s activities will begin with an evening program at 6:30 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater and then move to the bus loop behind the visitor center at 7:30 p.m. where participants will set up their astrophotography equipment.
Mammoth Cave National Park Restricts Open Fires in Campgrounds and Picnic Areas

Due to elevated fire danger, Mammoth Cave National Park officials have placed a burn restriction on all open fires in the park effective immediately. The restriction applies to the use of campfires or charcoal grills in the park’s three front country campgrounds, all back-country campsites, and park picnic areas. Gas camp stoves are permitted but should be watched closely during use.

Mammoth Cave Hosts Star Party for the Perseids Meteor Shower

Mammoth Cave National Park invites you experience the Perseids Meteor Shower at an evening Star Party at Mammoth Cave National Park on Monday, August 12 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. CDT. Park rangers and volunteers will present an evening program about the night sky, provide telescopes to view a first quarter moon and deep sky objects, and distribute Junior Ranger Night Explorer books while watching meteors stream overhead.
