Gateway Arch National Park sees 2.4 million visitors in 2023

ST. LOUIS, MO (February 27, 2024) — Visitation to Gateway Arch National Park continues to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to recently-released National Park Service visitation figures. The figures report 2,422,836 visitors in 2023, a testament to the park’s world-class visitor experience and programming. Also, in 2023, the National Park Service adopted a more precise method to estimate visitors in Gateway Arch National Park.
National Park Service Updates Methodology for Counting Visitors at Gateway Arch National Park

Following a study of park visitation in 2021 and 2022, the National Park Service (NPS) adopted a more precise and accurate way to estimate visitors to Gateway Arch National Park, which includes the Gateway Arch Visitor Center, Museum at the Arch, the Old Courthouse, and the park grounds. The park had not significantly updated visitor counting methodology in decades, and new technologies allow for more accurate estimation of visitation to the park grounds.
